WHAT ARE DATADOTS AND HOW ARE THEY TRACED?
DataDots are a hi-tech identification technology, so small they
are only the size of a grain of sand. Made from a durable polyester
substrate, laser etched with microscopic identification information
that is easy for police to trace.
For ease of application, DataDots are supplied suspended in a clear-drying
liquid adhesive. DataDots are typically applied by brush or spraying
on to assets commonly targeted by thieves. The adhesive contains
a UV trace making it easy for authorities to detect the presence
of the technology. Police only need to locate a single DataDot to
confirm the asset's true identity. 30x magnification is all that
is needed to read a DataDot containing multiple lines of the unique
police traceable identifier.

This simple risk management practice is now widely supported and
